Work Smarter with Research Data: A Catalogue of Data Management Tools Workshop - ONLINE

Where should you store your research data? How can you share them securely with collaborators? Which tools make data management easier throughout your research project?

Research data management doesn't have to be complicated - if you know which tools to use. This training will guide you through the entire research data lifecycle, from planning and data collection to documentation, analysis, secure storage, collaboration, sharing, publication, and long-term preservation.

You will also discover the Catalogue of Data Management Tools—a collection of trusted tools and services that can help you organize files, collaborate with colleagues, manage research workflows, share data safely, and preserve valuable datasets for the future.

Through practical examples and demonstrations of selected tools, you'll learn how to choose the right solutions for your research, avoid common pitfalls, and make your data more secure, organized, reusable, and FAIR.

The seminar will be led by Mgr. Tereza Kolmačková from the Open Science Department of the Library of the Czech Academy of Sciences. She specializes in supporting Open Science and research data management. Drawing on her expertise, she will provide a practical overview of data management tools and best practices that researchers can apply throughout their everyday research activities.

The training will be conducted in English. All participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop to make the most of the practical exercises. 

The training is intended for all researchers and members of research project teams. Staff from other departments of the Institute of Philosophy are also welcome to attend if interested.
